Uplighting Grey drape backdrop for PFLAG event Hamline University

AV for You was a sponsoring partner for a PFLAG event at Hamiline University. We did a stage with full sound and 2 6×8 rear projection screens with 6500 lumen X-80 projectors with short throw lens. We did a grey drape backdrop uplight with an LED rainbow effect. Gustavus Adolphus College Christ Chapel 2 large screens with windows

A couple months ago we (AV for You) got a call about doing some large screens in a very challenging space. We went down and did a site inspection and the result was Gustavus Adolphus put on a great conference about slavery this past weekend. They had about 900 people attend  the keynote speaker who needed to show a PowerPoint presentation. Their beautiful Christ Chapel on campus was to be the location. The problem was the presentation was in the morning and there are 360 degrees of windows around the chapel. Our plan was to use 7.5×10 rear projection screens and pipe and drape the sides between the back of the screen and the projector. This tunnel of drape killed a lot of the light that would wash out the screens from the sides. In addition we used 6500 lumen projectors with short throw lenses as there was not a lot of excess space on the stage. Finally we also did about 50′ of pipe and drape along the east wall to try and stop the direct sunlight from coming into the building all together. There was still a great deal of ambient light getting in but the counter measures we took allowed for a very use able image in a very sun light hostile environment.

Ultimate PJ Party

We did a great event at the Double Tree Saint Louis Park. The Ultimate PJ party was a lot of fun to do. We had a ton of up-lighting both static and dynamic. We had a gobo outside the entrance that really popped.  We did it with a standard metal gobo and and ETC Source 4 15-30 zoom and a pink gel. Inside we had the red room for where fortunes were told. The main room had a live band. We did the pipe and drape, fastfold screen with rear projection and short throw lens. We also lined the room room with dynamic up-lighting and also put a couple of moving head lights on box truss with internal light. We also setup the corrugated plastic backdrop behind the bed for the photo shoot.  We had a tech on-site to hand the Powerpoint and to change the lighting scenes.
